Areas with recent local transmission of Zika virus are reported below. According to the last reported case by national or regional health authorities, countries and territories are categorized as being affected in the: • Past two months, and therefore assumed to have current active transmission of the virus • Past nine months, to aid diagnosis for returning travellers, especially pregnant women. WHO – Vyhlášení mimořádné situace mezinárodního významu
Prohlášení Světové zdravotnické organizace (WHO) k viru Zika a pozorovanému nárůstu neurologických poruch a neonatálních malformací. Dne 1. února 2016 vyhlásila Světová zdravotnická organizace “Public Health Emergency of Intenational Concern (PHEIC)”, což znamená vyhlášení mimořádné situace ohrožení veřejného zdraví mezinárodního významu.
